2022 JURIED MEMBER SHOW

Picture

(The following is for reference and review as the call is now closed)

Contact Show Chairperson Kelly Knouff-Burk.

The member show is a perfect opportunity to learn how to navigate a prospectus.  Why?  Because you can ask for help along the way!  The prospectus is like a rule book for each particular show.  There are many things to consider, which is simplified by reading it through completely then going back and highlighting details that will be important for success. Even the most beautiful paintings can be rejected due to prospectus violations - even before the juror has a chance to see them. Oral Carper, our National Show chairperson, has compiled his list of most frequent problems encountered - take a look.

PROSPECTUS

  • Read through the prospectus carefully.  It is the guide book for this particular show.
  • Highlight requirements that pertain to you/your painting.
  • Check your measurements (and recheck - many prospectus violations occur here!).

WINNING PAINTINGS REQUIRE WINNING IMAGES!

If you cannot get a acceptable file size, or clear, unskewed, well-lit image with your camera, phone, etc., consider taking your unframed painting to Kurt at the Spokane Art Supply to be professionally scanned.  Or ask a member with experience - we all learned from the bottom up at some point!
