My two passions in life have always been art and horses. As a kid I could be found on a horse or drawing one. I started painting horse portraits on slate and selling them when I was in high school. Equine art is still my favorite but I have branched out into other subjects such as landscapes and portraits. My education is in Industrial Design (Visual Communications Design) with a BSID from Ohio State University. Iʼm also an RN and dedicated 30 years to acute care nursing. I have tried many art mediums over the years but have always enjoyed the unique qualities of
watercolor. Since retirement I have refocused on developing my skill as a watercolor painter. Recently, I have begun showing my work locally and painting en plein air.
My paintings are created with the intention of sharing the beauty and character of the subject with the viewer. I hope to draw them into the scene and have them feel something and appreciate the subject as I did while painting it. The magnificence of nature motivates me to try to capture it on paper.
