Artist’s Biography
Kelly Knouff-Burk is a local watercolor artist residing in Deer Park, Washington. Originally from Ohio, she earned a Bachelor Degree in Industrial Design (BSID in Visual Communication Design) from The Ohio State University. She worked as a graphic artist for a publishing company and did freelance work as well. She is also an RN who has worked in acute care nursing for 30 years. Since retirement, Kelly has refocused on developing her fine art skills. She began studying watercolor through classes and various watercolor workshops. She has shown her work locally with success and is active in the Spokane Watercolor Society as the organization secretary. Her favorite subject since an early age has been horses but she has branched out into a variety of other subjects including landscapes and portraits. Artist’s Statement “My paintings are created with the intention of sharing the beauty and character of the subject with the viewer. I hope to draw them into the scene to feel something and appreciate the subject as I did while painting it.
