Encouraged to develop artistic abilities from a young age, I earned a degree in art and have freelanced as a graphic designer while being a full-time mom for most of my career. Recently, I have begun to paint for a more personal, hands-on creative experience. A member of the Spokane Watercolor Society, I enjoy meeting
fellow watercolor painters, improving my skills through taking classes, and painting together with other artists.
Portraying vivid details, vibrant color and dramatic contrasts with paint on paper, I am intrigued to try and capture the light and shadow, hue and shade, shape and form I see in the world around me. I am awed and amazed when brushing pigment and
water on a piece of paper results in something wonderful. Studying skills and techniques, designing compositions, facing fears, finding my voice, sharing with others, practicing and persevering— all these facets of learning and improving as an artist make watercolor painting both challenging and satisfying.
