Greg Chapleski, born and raised in Chicago, Illinois, lived in Colorado over 50 years, a major part of which he worked as a writer and illustrator in the world of advertising. He was an illustrator, did story boards, wrote copy for radio and television commercials and copy for whatever products his clients were promoting. Now retired, he and his wife live in their “forever home” with an in-home art studio in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho.
Greg’s formal education was through the Air Force, and at Boise State. He also attended Rocky Mountain School of Art and Design in Denver, Colorado where he learned the “Trial-and-Error, Practice-and-Succeed” method of painting with watercolor. He readily admits, “Painting with watercolor is a process, not a destination. The learning never stops.” And, that’s why Greg loves the medium. He has taught watercolor classes in both Denver and Coeur d’Alene. Greg has been a member of Colorado Watercolor Society since 2009 and served as its president for two years. |
