Becky Gromlich

Bio
I’ve played with brushes and crafts all my life and logged many “hours on a brush” before I narrowed it down to watercolor. I love creating work that reflects joy, beauty, and a sense of peace. My training includes classes at DuCret School of Art and workshops with lots of renowned artists, along with thousands of hours of painting. I’ve been teaching classes and workshops for over 15 years. Teaching is just as much fun for me as painting, maybe even more. I love helping artists who are just beginning, as well as those who want to grow in their skills to reach the next level. I share step-by-step demonstrations on my YouTube channel, The Watercolor Classroom, and teach in-person workshops at Spokane Art Supply.
Artist Statement
My greatest inspiration is nature, looking at the real thing and at reference photos, although I mostly paint from photos. My goals for each painting are to greatly improve on every reference photo, to make my paintings look real but not photographic, to maintain old and develop new skills, to help my students to do the same. My overriding goal is to help others see the love of Jesus through the beauty of His creation.
