Born in Texas, raised in the Northwest, my education has nothing to do with art. I have been interested in art since childhood. My grandfather and mother were both artist, so the interest “must be” genetic. From childhood I always played around with something artistic – whatever my interest was at the time. I didn’t become serious about art until 2010. I am mostly self-taught but have taken some local classes to correct my not so artistic habits. Watercolor is a fun medium, with bright colors and sometimes surprises as you paint. The surprises can be the most fun part of painting. I paint things that make me happy, or I find interesting. I paint for the pure joy of painting.
