Gina Judy

Bio
Gina T. Judy, a retired permanently-certified Ohio Art Educator, holds an MA and BA in Art Education. In December, after being retired seven-years, she decided to temporarily come out of teaching-retirement. The untimely passing of the 69-year-old teacher at Jefferson County Christian School, (Wintersville, Ohio) left them in need of an art-teacher. Currently teaching art half-day, five days a week to grades 3-12, she is completing out their school year as the permanent substitute. One of her students, an 8th grader, has been selected and is currently being featured in the OAEA Young People's Show being held virtually this year on the Ohio Art Education Association Website. She is a former Region East OAEA Outstanding Art Educator, and serves on the board of the Pittsburgh Society of Artists, of which she is a juried-member, and the Steubenville Art Association. This particular piece is very sentimental to Gina, as it portrays the first-month of her father being in a nursing-home full-time, after living for nine-years with Alzheimer's, six of them with her family in their home. It was actually a Christmas-performance, a happy-event where everyone was gathered to hear the performers, but the expressions were changed to convey her own feelings about him being there. Since late 2014 she has exhibited in numerous shows in many states, both actual and online, that have required a National or International screening. She is a signature member in seven watercolor associations. Philadelphia, Pikes-Peak, Baltimore, and in the states of Ohio, Kentucky, Montana, & Alaska. This past-year, besides being in national shows in each of these locations, she is very proud of having been selected for the 2021 Travel-show of the Ohio Watercolor Society, and the 2020 Travel-show of South Carolina's. She also had a pastel exhibited recently in "ARTS NORTH 27" a juried international exhibition at the Hopkins Center for the Arts in Hopkins, MN. Also a juried-member of the Rhode Island Watercolor Society and Pittsburgh Watercolor Society, she is currently in the member exhibits of both and in "VISIONS 22", a juried national online RI exhibit. She recently won second-place in the Spokane 2021 Juried Member Show.
