My father was an artist and growing up, I always loved to draw and aspired to be as good of an artist as my dad. I graduated from the University of Iowa with a BA in studio Art. I just recently retired but have worked as a graphic artist/designer in different capacities throughout my career. I’m excited to get back into painting and working on my own personal artwork.

I feel my work is more “illustrative” in nature. I am drawn to subject matter that depicts people in action or a portrait of a particularly interesting face with expression and character. I also like still life subjects that explore different textures and intricate detail along with the play of light. My favorite mediums are pencil, charcoal and, of course, watercolor.
