Benny Fountain is a painter and art educator, born and raised in Moscow, Idaho. Fountain recently returned to the Northwest to lead the drawing and painting track at Whitworth University in Spokane. Fountain’s work has been exhibited in numerous national and international exhibits. In 2018 he was awarded Artist in Residence at the Josef and Anni Albers Foundation and in Spring of 2022 he was Resident Fellow at the American College of the Mediterranean in Aix-en-Provence, France. Since returning to the Northwest, Fountain has been creating a body of large scale landscape paintings to be exhibited in his sixth solo exhibition at the Froelick Gallery in Portland.
